LHC New No-Show Policy

LHC has a new no-show policy. If you miss your appointment or cancel within 12 hours of your appointment time, there will be a fee. Your missed appointment means that someone else who has been waiting to see the physician cannot be seen and this affects our wait times.

  • – Regular 15 minute appointment: $50.00
  • – 30 minute appointment: $100.00

New Covid-19 Appointment Protocol

Appointments are conducted by phone/video conferencing or in clinic. Please call us to book an appointment. We are working hard to offer same day appointments. Please note the following:

  • –   Your doctor will call you as close to your scheduled time as possible.
  • –   Your doctor may call from a Non-LHC phone so please answer blocked numbers.
  • –   If you and your doctor decide that an in person examination is necessary, you will be invited to come to the clinic. Please come into the clinic alone, unless a support person is absolutely required. Please wear a mask if you have one, we will supply one if needed. 
  • –   Our parking lot is our new waiting room. Please call the number posted on our door when you arrive and we will bring you into the clinic when we are prepared for you.

COVID-19 Update

For your safety: as of March 23, 2020 at 9:00am, all appointments are by telephone unless we have instructed you to be seen in person.

If we have instructed you to be seen in person, please wait in your vehicle until your appointment, do not come early, and call us when you arrive so we can check you in.

For Walk-In Patients: Please stay in your vehicle and call us to check in. The doctor will then call you for this appointment and will determine if they need to assess you in person.

If you have ANY symptoms of fever, new or changed cough, shortness of breath or other flu like symptoms, please call to arrange an over-the-phone appointment with your doctor or the walk-in doctor, to be referred to a local COVID-19 testing centre.

COVID-19 Updates and Clinic Policy

Due to the Coronavirus, anyone with symptoms of a fever, cough, sore throat, or difficulty breathing, and you have travelled in the last 4 weeks, Please Stay Home!

Call 306 955-5433 to book an appointment over the phone so you can be assessed and referred to the the nearest Covid Testing Centre. or Call Health Canada @ 811 for instructions on what to do. We will NOT be testing for COVID-19. We are taking extra precautions to ensure everyone’s health.

Q: Why do I have to pay for forms, Dr’s notes/sick notes, rapid strep test, etc.?

A: There are some services that are offered at Lifebridge Health Centre that are not covered through provincial health cards. Since there is no health coverage for these services there is a fee associated with the service. This is a list of our uninsured services provided at Lifebridge Health Centre. Some private insurance companies may cover the cost of these uninsured services, so we will provide you with a receipt that can be submitted to your insurance company. We do not offer direct billing through our office.


Q: Why is there a fee if I do not show for an appointment or cancel last minute?

A: We charge $30 for a missed 15-minute appointment and $60 for a missed 30-minute appointment. We have this fee because when you cancel last minute or do not show, that is a space that another patient could be booked to see the doctor. This is implemented in many businesses at medical clinics, dental clinics, hair salons and spas, and many more. We require 24 hours’ notice for cancellations and to reschedule an appointment with the doctor. Please call or contact us when you need to change your scheduled appointment to avoid any fees.


Q: How do I become a patient at your clinic?

A: It is very easy to become a patient at Lifebridge Health Centre! All you need to do is pick one of our doctors that are accepting new patients and book an appointment with them. This appointment can be a meet and greet to just meet the doctor and see if they would be a good fit for you, or jump right in and book for a medical concern. After this initial appointment with the doctor, we will get your records transferred from your previous doctor to our clinic by having you sign a consent form. After the initial appointment the doctor that you saw will become your family doctor and you can continue to book appointments with them.


Q: How does your walk-in clinic work, and what are the hours?

A: Our walk-in clinic is on a first-come, first-serve basis, unless a medical emergency comes into the clinic and requires immediate attention. All you need to do is register with your health card at the front desk and your name will be put on the wait list to see the doctor. We have recently extended our walk-in hours at our clinic. We are now open Monday-Thursday 9am-8pm, Friday 9am-5pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm. However, the walk-in may reach full capacity before the clinic closes each night so we are not always able to accommodate patients that come to the clinic near closing. We also post our estimated wait time on medimap.ca for our walk-in clinic.


Q: I don’t have provincial health coverage, can I still come to your clinic?

A: Yes! You can absolutely come to our clinic if you do not have a provincial health card. However, there is a $40 fee for a basic office visit with no health coverage that will be required before seeing the doctor. If you have a Canadian Health Card that is not from Saskatchewan you will still have coverage for regular health care, except Quebec Health Cards are not accepted and you will be required to pay the $40 fee and can submit the bill to Quebec Health for a potential reimbursement.


Q: Why is my doctor late for my appointment?

A: Unfortunately, sometimes the doctor will run behind and will be late for your appointment. We are sorry and apologize that this happens. We try our best to book appointments according to the need of the patient so there is enough time for the patient and doctor to take care of their health. There are times when unexpected situations will come up in an appointment or there may be a language barrier between the patient and doctor. When these situations happen, it can take extra time for the doctor to help the patient. We understand the inconvenience that this can cause, but we hope you will understand that sometimes the doctor will need to take longer with a patient than previously expected.

Flu Shot Facts and Information


People often do not realize how serious influenza is, they believe it is just the stomach flu, or a head cold, but it is much more than that. Flu symptoms can lead to pneumonia, hospitalization, and in serious cases it can even lead to death.

The Difference Between Influenza and a Cold

Flu symptoms often include some or all of these symptoms: fever, chills, cough/chest discomfort, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, muscle or body aches, headaches, fatigue, and some people experience vomiting and diarrhea. These symptoms will usually come on suddenly.

Cold symptoms often include these symptoms: runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, congestion, slight body aches, mild headaches, sneezing, very low fever, and generally feeling unwell. These cold symptoms usually come on gradually.

Protection Against Influenza

The flu vaccine is the best way that you can protect yourself and your kids against getting the flu. The flu shot is available all over Saskatoon, and it is free! You can get the flu shot at Lifebridge Health Centre through our walk-in clinic, or by an appointment with a doctor. You can also receive this flu shot at the pharmacy next door, Pharmacy First. Most medical clinics and pharmacies will have the flu shot available. The flu vaccine protects you against the flu because when it is injected it causes antibodies to develop in the body. These antibodies are developed through the viruses in the vaccine and will fight against the influenza virus if you are exposed to it after you have received the vaccine. It takes about two weeks for these antibodies to form and provide the protection required to fight off the infection.

It is recommended that anyone 6 months or age and older should get a flu vaccine every year. Children that are between 6 months and 8 years old require two flu shots for the first time receiving a flu shot.  For more information: https://www.cdc.gov/flu/protect/children.htm

Flu Shot Effectiveness

The flu shot changes every season due to the influenza virus changing every year. Every year, experts decide what viruses they will include in the influenza vaccine many months in advance of the flu season. Since there are many factors that go into choosing the viruses to include, there is always a chance that the vaccine may not be a good match to the virus that is circulating that year.

Side Effects

The flu vaccine cannot give you the flu, but there are other side effects that you may get when you receive the flu vaccine. You may experience soreness, redness, or swelling where you received the shot. You may also experience a low-grade fever or aches. After receiving the flu shot it is always recommended to wait 15 minutes before leaving the clinic in case any symptoms occur right after the injection.
